What else you should know about me:

My son died from methadone toxicity due to a negligent methadone clinic and doctor. He was only on Day 5 when I came home from work to find him dead in our home. Since this time, I have tried to change local, state and federal regulations regarding the Induction Phase of MMT. If these regulations were in place when Matthew entered treatment, he would not have died. So much more can be done regarding Methadone if people only knew it's dangers, it's properties, the opioid tolerance required to take Methadone, it's long half-life,etc.. We were not told anything when Matthew went into out-patient treatment except not to combine any other drugs with it, which Matthew did not do. He had side effects all week and told every staff member he could find, but they all basically blew him off. They told him his body would adjust, it didn't, and he died. The side effects he was having were obvious signs of Methadone Toxicity and not the normal start of treatment side effects. It is so hard to go on with life without my son, but I also have a daughter who needs me. Matthew sends me dreams and signs, so I know he is with me. (One is published in a book about Special Dreams by Luellen Hoffman, available at Amazon.com). I go through the motions daily but miss my son more than words can describe.
